Food is everything we are. It's an extension of nationalist feeling, ethnic feeling, your personal history, your province, your region, your tribe, your grandma. It's inseparable from those from the get-go. If you truly get in touch with a piece of vegetable or fruit, you get in touch with the soil, the rain, the sunshine. You get in touch with the Earth and eating in such a way, you feel in touch with true life, your roots, and that is meditation. If we chew every morsel of our food in that way we become grateful and when you are grateful, you are happy. I'm not a chef, but I'm passionate about food - the tradition of it, cooking it, sharing it and painting it.
